Join us for an evening of hors d’oeuvres, drinks and amazing purses!

Tote, satchel, clutch or hobo — whatever style handbag you favor, you can find it at Purses with a Purpose. A signature COMPASS (Sexual Assault Education, Prevention & Support) (COMPASS) event, Purses with a Purpose kicks off Sexual Assault Awareness Month with an online purse auction and a culminating in-person celebration from 5:30 to 8 p.m. April 1 at the Alex D. Krassas Event Center in Canton.

The auction will have a wide selection of purses, bags and totes to bid on!

Proceeds raised from Purses for a Purpose will support advocacy and prevention programs.

Rock For Resilience

April 11

Join COMPASS Rape Crisis at the Auricle for Rock for Resilience, a rock benefit that aims to highlight the strength of survivors of sexual assault in Stark County. Spend your Friday night promoting a great cause—100% of the proceeds will go directly to COMPASS services, benefiting survivors of sexual assault. Doors open at 7 p.m.; show begins at 8 p.m. Presale tickets are $15, available at theauricle.net.

Self-Defense Class

April 19

Join COMPASS and Kevin Ketler, Human Trafficking Outreach Advocate and retired law enforcement officer, for a basic self-defense class at the Goodwill Ken Weber Community Campus. For more information, call 330-437-3705.

Take Back the Night

April 24

Join COMPASS in Tuscarawas County at the Courthouse on the Square at 7 p.m. for a short program followed by a walk that aims to offer support to victims of violent crime. Co-hosted with Noah’s Hope Child Advocacy Center, the Tuscarawas County Prosecutor’s Office and Harbor House. This event is free and open to the public. Light food and drinks will be served.

Denim Day

April 30

Join millions of people across the world that will wear jeans with a purpose, support survivors and educate themselves and others about all forms of sexual violence. Take a pic in your denim and tag COMPASS on social media.
